LBD
Little black dress ......this is what I need. I am in another wedding the weekend after Christmas. I am in the house party. We are supposed to wear solid black dresses. I am pretty sure that all of my black dresses either have some other color on them or are helplessly out of style. I need something that will not break the bank either this close to Christmas. Here is what I am thinking....what do you think?
Jingle Bells
Last night the hubster and I volunteered to ring the bell for the Salvation Army kettle. We signed up through our church and because I am a serious over acheiver, I automatically signed up for it despite my protesting husband. Yesterday of course wast the longest day at work ever and so of course I couldn't even go home and had to pick up my husband and go straight there. Let's just say we were both regretting my decision to sign us up for this.( I know we are terrible) But it actually turned out to be a blast. I got some much needed QT(quality time) with my husband. We made it our personal goal to wish every person either a Merry Christmas or a great night. This was so fun. Who knew that wishing people Merry Christmas would make you feel so good. Oh yeah and we turned it into a competition of how much money we could collect. Although we really don't know what anyone else collected...I feel confident that we were on top. Anyways the point of this post was to say that the Lord really can turn things that you are not that excited about doing into blessings. It was a blessing to hang out with my husband and a blessing to talk to a bunch of strangers. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Not the only one...
I found this link on You Tube and found it so adorable. Jennifer Love Hewitt is my new favorite. Here she is talking about how much she loves watching The Hills. It is so cute and I love how animated she gets. The second clip she talks about how much she loves Lauren Conrad and how she could never go up and talk to her. See, celebrities are so normal....I LOVETHIS!!!!! :)

Weddings!
I LOVE weddings! I mean I really love them. I am pretty sure that becoming a professional wedding attender could be in my near future. I definitely could go to random strangers weddings and even throw in some crying for good measure. THAT is how much I love weddings. They make my heart so happy. Oh and it doesn't hurt that I love to dance and don't do it that much so every wedding is another opportunity to shake my groove thang. This weekend is one of my dear friends Theresa's wedding. That is Theres and her man. They were engaged for well over a year. And I don't know how they did it. 11 months was too long for me. So I am super excited for it. I am her matron of honor(sidenote: isn't that name just hideous???? MATRON....why, why, why do I have to be the matron....seriously it makes feel old and unattractive.....) But she is doing some really fun things for her wedding. She is getting married in this really great barn..... and she has this tree branch thing on all of her centerpieces that looks like this:
I will take lots of pictures for you guys to see the real deal. So adorable and I can't wait for her wedding. Now I just have to plan my toast...EEK! :)

Rockin it
Last night the hubs and my boss and I headed over to the House of Blues in Orlando to hear this XCELLENT Christmas concert that was raising money for Toys For Tots. If you remember this is my super awesome Christmas gift from my boss that I wrote about in a previous post. So the line-up was Natasha Bedingfeld, Gavin DeGraw, Colbie Callait, and David Cook. It was absolutely incredible. The entire show was acoustic and I LOVE acoustic shows. There is just something about taking away the majority of the music and being able to completely hear the singer. So anyways, I have always been a fan of Gavin's( um hello i have seen him live three times and we are so on a first name basis), and I have always enjoyed Colbie Callait and Natasha Bedengfeld's music. But now i think I need to immediately go buy their albums. Their live voices are INCREDIBLE!!! They both completely rocked it out. And I am always somebody who will support someone actually being able to sing well live as opposed to sucking. And David Cook was incredible! We had a fantastic time despite being smooshed in between a very lively threesome on the left and some very public lesbians on the right. But that dear friends is a story for another day!
STolen
So my brilliant hubby found a seriously great CD the other day for FREE. I stole what he wrote on his blog because I just knew that all of you would want to go download your free copy today!! This CD is incredible if you like "beautiful, makes your spine tingle" worship music.
Looking for some great worship. Check out "Canons" by Phil Wickham. in fact, if you will go tohttp://philwickham.com/singalong/ you can download a free live album. It's just Phil, his guitar, and 3,000 folks singing their brains out for Jesus. "Canons" is on the album, as well as songs from his first and second albums.
Great Find Honey! ;)

Loser
Seriously. I am a big FAT Hairy loser. GAW my hubster and I completely missed our chance to get National Championship tickets. It was announced this past Sunday that OU would be playing in the big game. On Tuesday, we started facebooking everyone we know still in school to see if they would get student tickets for us. They had already done the tickey sign-up on MONDAY!!!! AHHHHH!!! we missed it by one freaking day. Oh yeah and for those of you who don't know we now live in Lakeland, Florida where we are approximately 5 HOURS from Miami and the big game. GAh....see I told you. Loser.
PS. Did I mention it sucks to live in Florida right now and hear about how "great" the Gators are?

Prayer please
Today is one of those down in the dumps days. Nothing seems to be going right at work. I have averted a handful of minor disasters which have left me feeling like I am going to puke. I just found out that I will probably be working tonight and tomorrow during the day. And the hubby and I had planned to go to Sea World before our yearly passes expire. Looks like we won't be able to go now. :( I am sad. Maybe my weekend will be better. TGIF!

Better than a ham
Ok I have to brag for a second. I officially have the greatest boss in the entire world. He called me into his office yesterday and handed me two pieces of paper and said Merry Christmas. I opened it up to find that it is two tickets to go see Gavin DeGraw, Natasha Bedingfeld, FlyLeaf, and Colbie Callat(not sure if that is how you spell her name)this coming Sunday!! I mean first off how many bosses actually know and remember what kind of music you like and secondly a concert??? This is so awesome!!!! I am so stinkin excited!! I do have to say that it is much better than a ham!!! haha!!!

JIMMY!
Just wanted to share with you guys the CD I am OBSESSED with lately. You need to immediately leave your computer and run to you nearest music store and buy this CD. Jimmy Needham is the singer and let me just tell you he is not only an incredible musician, but he has the most incredible passion for Jesus and you can tell in his lyrics. I love that his entire CD challenges us as believers to think about things deeper and not just go through the motions of our Christian faith. But to really make a difference. I feel like I learn so much when I listen to his music. And it is good. This CD has seriously been a joy to own and listen to. Oh and it would also make great stocking stuffers!! Oh and I have uploaded a song of his to my play list. It is called "Hurricane" and it is off this latest album. Listen to it and see if you like him. I can pretty much guarantee you will!!
Reality Check
This time of the year is the time of the year that everyone begins to realize how thankful they are and how blessed Jesus has made them. This year is no different for me. At church we are doing this gift tree in our Sunday school class. The entire gift tree is for one family who has stumbled into some incredibly difficult medical issues that are taking a huge financial toll on them. So this entire little tree was filled with their wish list items.
Begin tangent:
I just absolutely ADORE gift trees!! My parents are the most generous people known to man( I mean seriously they are givers) and every year from the time I can remember, my mom and I would pick several "ornaments" off of a random gift tree and we would then go shopping together and pick out the gifts. Now this was one of my favorite Christmas traditions and it really taught me to be generous with giving. Can't wait to do this with my future kids.
Anyways, so I walk up to the tree expecting to see the usual wish list things on this tree. You know the toys and random fun stuff, mixed in with some necessities like clothes and a new coat. As I looked through the tree though I was overcome with sadness at what I saw. I picked out three ornaments to give and just to give you an example I will tell you what is on my three. For the 6 year-old, they were requesting art supplies. For the 16-year old boy they were requesting an electric toothbrush, and for the the entire family gift they were requesting Double A batteries. I couldn't believe it. There were not toys anywhere on the tree. Everything was an extreme necessity that most of us take for granted when buying it. Talk about feeling extremely grateful for the things that I have. My entire Christmas list is full of wants. Not needs. There is not one thing that I need because I have all my needs met and then some. Anyways, the husband and I are so stinkin excited to buy this family gifts. We have already talked about how we are going to buy the presents they want but also tons of other FUN things for this precious family!! I can't wait. This is what Christmas is all about. Blessing others. I just wish that there was a gift tree all year round. I urge anyone reading to go find your nearest gift tree(usually Salvation Army has them and I did notice that Applebee's looks like they are hosting one). You won't regret it and you will most likely be more blessed by doing it than the family on the receiving end!! Merry Christmas!!! :)

Night and Day
So last night was one of those nights that don't come around very often. They don't advertise them in wedding magazines, no one tells you when you get engaged to expect it, and you certainly don't think about it on that big wedding day. But all of my fellow married women can agree that it does happen! Well IT happened last night! What is "IT" you may ask. Well the night that you are yet again reminded that men and women could not be any more different from each other and this fact alon makes cohabiting together feel like torture sometimes! (haha a little harsh...love you babe) But seriously, you ever have those nights where you feel completely not on the same page, but maybe even in two completely different books? Last night was just no fun! The husband and I got into a fight. I started crying( which just always seems to happen, I wish i could get the water works under control) and then the crap hit the fan. After talking through things, we kind of had an epiphany. Maybe it is not an epiphany for others but it was the first time we had really sat down and talked about what we needed from the other person to feel loved. Now me, I am all about you telling me how great I am(haha). But seriously I need lots of encouragement. I need my husband to tell me what it is that he loves about me. It is not enough just to hear that he does...I need to know why!!!! And he could care less why. He told me it doesn't matter. So here I have been the past year and a half trying to love him the way I want to be loved. So I am always telling him what it is about him that I love.....but found out last night that I have been wasting me time! :) Ok not really, I STILL need to do those things. But he really loves it when I respect him. That is when he feels most valued and loved. To quote his words" I don't need you to stroke my back and tell me you love me. I need you to say"You have what it takes and I will follow you wherever you lead me." ( Actually very poetic and true words-good job babe) So now I know and he knows and hopefully we can move towards understanding how to fulfill the other one a little bit better! A good lesson to learn.....but not a very fun process!! So honey if you are reading this " Know that you DO have what it takes and I WILL follow you to the ends of the earth...no questions asked". And for any of you reading....leave a comment...you know I love to hear why you love me!! Haha only teasing! :)

Reindeer Games..
I saw this on some random person's blog and thought it was fun!!!!
1.Wrapping paper or gift bags? Heck yes wrapping paper. There is nothing more fun than coordinating paper, gift tags, and homemade bows. I just love it. But I will probably have to do lots of bags this year because we are flying and they take up less room. :(
2. Tree--Real or Artificial? Artificial....really don't understand the love of real trees(does that make me strange) I like for my trees to look cute and the real ones are always missing half of one side!!
3. When do you put your Christmas tree up? Depends...usually the first part of December but this year i put it up the day after Thanksgiving.
4. When do you take the tree down? Ummmm....would probably leave it up till March if my husband let me....I LOVE THEM!
5. Like eggnog? YOU BET!!! I already had a bottle of it in the fridge BEFORE Thanskgiving.
6. Do you have a nativity scene? yes two......love them so much......but why is is that Baby Jesus is always reaching His hands up like he is about to speak??? Never understand that......
7. Favorite gift received as a child? oh gosh...I can't even think...ooooh wait I do still remember when i got a Barbie Doll house complete with elevator and work out gym....it was sweet.
8. Hardest person to buy for? My dad....he is the type of person that buys what he wants when he sees it and so he never really wants anything when Christmas comes around...and HE ALWAYS guesses what you got him before he opens it....so annoying! (love you DAD)
10. Worst Christmas gift? oh gosh......i don't know...i am pretty easy to please. maybe a gift card....don't get me those for Christmas...it seems like a cop out to me.

16. Lights on tree? well usually white but my husband and i picked out colored last year for fun and they are growing on me.

23. Favorite ornament? my nutcracker ornament I got when I was a kid...I still remember the feeling of excitement I got when my parents gave it to me....
24. What do you want for Christmas this year? a vacation...and I am getting that..so it should be a good Christmas!!! :)

Stressed
Today is not a very happy day on the job front. I am super panicked today. Our team screwed up. I know we did. And now I have to try to explain to our customer how we let something so important slip through the cracks the way we did. I mean I even had recurring nightmares about it all last night. It is no fun being in charge sometimes. I mean sure getting to come in when you want, take long lunches if you want, and delegating are fun. But not having to be the one to own up to the screw-ups of those you supervise. I REALLY do not want to get yelled at today. And I aboslutely HATE dissapointing people(the people-pleaser in me). So I need this day to be over and quick. Yuck what a very bad, no good, rotten day. Please shoot a prayer up to the big guy for me if you think about it. On a lighter note: it is almost the weekend.

one great holiday
My Thanksgiving holiday was terrific!! I hope everyone else had a lovely one as well. I hosted my very first Thanksgiving dinner at our place and I cooked everything!! And it was actually good......I say this with surprise because I am by no means a cook and can manage to mess up anything. But everything went off without a hitch and my entire family agreed that the meal tasted just like Mom's. (What a great compliment...just what I was going for) I had a couple of scares....for example...I accidentally grabbed the sweetened condensed milk out of the pantry instead of the evaporated milk and put it into my pumpkin pie. Well as soon as I found out, I started crying.(Yeah yeah give me a break...I was stressed and hormonal) But after giving it a taste test, I think I am on to something. It was VERY good. So if you ever do this do not fret. That little mistake works wonders for you pumpkin pie. But all in all it was a fabulous weekend. We had Christmas with my family and my family once again spoiled us rotten(not that I mind)!! Can you believe though that I did not take any pictures??? The entire weekend. Geez I don't see my family ever and I forgot to take pictures!! Oh well I guess we were just having too much fun!!

Chaos
I went to the grocery store yesterday to prepare to cook Thanksgiving dinner. It was absolute chaos....I mean there were turkey cooking pans everywhere...turkey bags falling off of their tower.....a thanksgiving side dish at the end of every aisle. And every person so lost in their own train of thought that people are stopping in the middle of walking.....ramming into my cart. the entire trip made me have great anxiety and I really could not wait to get outta there. Why is it that people completely loose their manners in a grocery store??
Anyways, I cannot wait till my family arrives. T-minus 2 days. Now I just need my house to magically clean itself! :) Happy Turkey Day to everyone!! Hope you all have a blessed day of eating and watching football. (Glorious) See you guys after the holiday.

And we are back
Did anybody watch the OU/ Texas Tech game this past weekend? It was glorious. Especially being from Lubbock and having to hear all my old high school mates talk trash about beating us before the game on Facebook. My parents went as Tech fans. Hard to believe we are related. (just kidding Mom) I am proud to be a Sooner. Best game of my life.
Random
Ok so here are some muddled thoughts for the day......I really don't have a clue what to post...so you get some happening/lessons of this past weekend.
Did you know that when your husband is in grad school you would find yourself struggling in Microsoft Works to correct the spacing of his footnotes and put page numbers on his Terabian syle paper that apparently the people who created Works have never had to use. otherwise they would have created a program that wouldn't take a computer engineer to get it to create this Terabian sytle paper. did you?
It is a bad idea to stand too far over a pot of oil as you drop in biscuits while making homemade donuts. I now have disfigured purple marks all over my chin from the splash that biscuit made.
Foundation won't cover these unsightly burns and I have never actually thought that I would prefer having pimples on my face.
Can't decide if I want to begin reading Twilight and then get addicted to a book that I will be embarassed to have my husband know that I read.
The closer it gets to the holidays the less motivation I have to do anthing.
I tried to go shopping for Christmas gifts this weekend and realized that you really can't get crap for under 20 dollars these days.
My family will be here in 3 days and I am thankful that I can say that it is the highlight of my month.
We have decided to cook the Thanksgiving meal this year. And I am scared. (read point #2 for further explanation of this fear of cooking)

Suckered in
I got suckered in the other night. Yep you heard right......complete and total sucker. I went to one of those Premier Jewelry parties the other night for a friend. You know she said that I didn't have to buy anything and she was just hosting it to get some free jewelry. So anyways I went and we had a good time....at first. Then we played this game where you had to basically tell the Premier lady to her face whether you would host a party for her in the future. ( I use the term game loosely, it was more like an uncomfortable torture device.) Well I was the last one to go and she had just gotten done saying that if 3 people signed up to host parties, then my friend Kim would get an extra 25 dollars in free jewelry. So two other people before me say they will host a party and when it gets to me I completely fold. Great so now I have just agreed to host this silly party in my tiny apartment, while inviting all of my friends that do not have any disposable income to spend on a 40 dollar ring. I did, however, sign up for my party in April, so now I have bought myself some time. I really need to find some old ladies to befriend who would want this mostly older looking jewelry. Ahhhh....why can I not say no?? It is such a curse. And now I am stressed about this party. Who wants to be the first person in history to host one of these where the seller makes absolutely no sales? I need to start lurking around the schools making friends with the teachers and moms...and quick. Wish me luck. Oh and if you happen to know any rich old ladies who are dying to throw their money away on jewelry, let me know!! :)

Under the......
Weather. That definitely describes me today. My head is throbbing, my ears hurt, my throat is huge and scratchy and I just want to go home as soon as possible! I have been telling myself all day.....I can not get sick, I cannot get sick. My boss is gone all week next week which leaves me to hold down the fort. So calling in is not an option. I know who gave it to me too. My husband just got done being sick. Silly me he kept telling me to stay away from him and wouldn't let me kiss him all last week. But I sneakily got a couple smooches while he was not prepared.... Serves me right, I guess.

Friday Finds
Check out these ornaments from Pottery Barn!! To Die for, they are so cute!! I love ornaments and one of our family's tradition when I was little was we received a new ornament every year from our parents at Christmas time. Then the next year you got to hang it on the Christmas tree! And now after an entire decade or more of ornaments, let's just say I have quite a large selection of them. But I just adore ornaments and am always looking for more to put on my tree. You can never have too many right?
Wouldn't these little beauties just be so sparkly and gorgeous on a Christmas tree with white lights??!!
And I ADORE this little initial ornament!! So classy and it would look perfect as an H!!!
And I love this little guy!! So cute!!
Happy Friday Ya'll!!!

Last night the CMA's were on TV. Carrie Underwood hosted with Brad Paisley and I just think that she could not be any more adorable!!! Everything she did, sang, and wore was awesome. And she was up for Female Vocalist of the Year last night and she WON!!!! She has won three times in a row!! I was literally yelling at the screen for her to win when my husband told me that I was a psycho!! Well anyways... Congrats Carrie!!! Love your BFF!!! :)

Great Birth Control
So I found this website called "MakeMeBabies.com". And you can upload pictures of yourself and your partner and it will mix the two to show you what your baby will look like. This is what my baby will look like with Jonathan:
Needless to say, this terrifying little girl is some pretty great birth control not to have children. I mean seriously, little Kenley might have had a chance had they not stuck her in a chicken suit. Oh yeah and just in case anyone is curious I also created a baby with Brad Pitt that was the exact same baby!!! I mean my husband is hot and everything but BRAD PITT??? Come on website, do I not get any difference with my Brad Pitt baby!! Haha!! This was fun!
UPDATE!!!! was just informed by RealOliveGreen that she got the same baby as me.....ok MakeMeBabies.com: stop scamming everyone.
On a lighter note: this does mean that my baby with Brad Pitt has the potential to look cuter than that weird looking kid in the chicken suit. SCORE. ;)

Old
I was informed the other day by my loving husband that " People just don't date the same way they did when we dated, honey". Oh yes I am sorry I forget that we dated in 1958 and it has been half a century since we dated. What the crap? Now let me back up so you will understand the context of this story. I was talking to a friend the other day and she was telling me about her dating life. She mentioned that one guy that she likes doesn't ever really call her... he just texts her. So I was explaining to my husband how strange I thought this was when he enlightened me about the evolution dating has had in the past year.
Now maybe I am just weird. But i don't like texting. I really do think that the only appropriate time to text is when you are sitting in a movie and your boyfriend can't remember where you were sitting.....then you text him the number of rows so he can find you.....but that IS IT!!! I just don't get into the idea of having complete conversations through your fingers. It is just not the way God intended, people. But anyways, I think it is inapporopriate/ a cop out for a guy to be pursuing a girl and yet he never calls her. I don't think it is romantic to have to franticly type out words on a tiny computer screen and wait six minutes to get a response. Anyways just curious to know what other people think. Is this the norm now in the dating world? Have I been married so long that I am now completely out of the loop when it comes to this? help me. please.

I was wrong.
Of for the love of everything good, I may not go on Facebook for a very long time due to all of the now angry people spouting off ridiculous, ignorant things in the face of Obama taking over the Presidency.I thought that it would get better when the election was over. Boy was I wrong. Now let me go on the record as saying that I voted for McCain for reasons that do not really need to be drawn out on this blog. HOWEVER, (and that my friends is a mighty big however) I do not think that Obama is a) A terrorist b) a dictator or c) the anti-Christ like so many of my fellow Republicans are trying to convince America of. I am now a supporter of Obama because I believe that our President deserves our respect and support no matter what. ( This is based on biblical teachings and I feel this is surely what God would tell all of the Christians that are up in arms about Obama). I truly believe that for President Obama to be successful, he needs all of our support and encouragement instead of our anger and our fear. Because let's be honest, whether you voted for him of not, we can all agree that we desperately NEED him to be succesful . President Obama's success during his presidential term is actually a win for us all. So please remember that the next time you get on Facebook, or your blog, or the phone, or any other vehicle of public communication with the purpose of slandering our new President. Our country needs to band together and support Obama. So that dear friends, is what I am doing.
*I apologize for the political rant: I am just fed up with the melodramatic crud I am seeing. (Also, I realize that the whole 5 people who read this blog are NOT the people that I am directing this post to....but hey a girl's gotta get it out somehow! ;)

I also bought the new Shane n Shane Christmas CD for 10.00...I love Christmas and have already started listening to these CDS!!!!
1 MORE DAY!
After tomorrow....the most annoying part of this year will be over. The election will officially be over with. Do you think they purposely make this time miserable so that people won't even care who wins? Because it is working for me. At this point, I don't even care who wins(ok I care a little). Just so long as someone does and we end this madness. Why is it that every commercial always talks about the other candidate instead of themselves. It literally drives me crazy. TELL ME WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO...and not what the other dude is going to do wrong. Anyways, I have already voted. I did the absentee ballot and avoided all those terrible lines!! It was phenomenal and I will NEVER vote at the booths ever. Talk about wasting so many precious hours voting. Not ok. so anyways three cheers for whoever wins and puts an end to this misery. :)

Do Orange Jumpsuits go with Red High heels?
Don't be alarmed if you see me in the newspaper for felony charges. I may indeed beat all of my employees until they bleed. I am very frustrated today and have you ever had one of those days when you have had it up to here( insert hand above my head)? Well today I have hit that place and I feel like I may go stark raving mad. I swear that I could manage a pack of 2 year-olds and have them follow instructions/stay on task/ and work better than my entire team combined.
Man I sure am nothing more than an overpaid babysitter.

WOWZA!
So it is officially freezing here in Florida. It's true! I looked on Weather.com and it is 41 here this morning!! Ridiculous! I have about twelve layers on because all of my sweaters are boxed up under my bed. There was no warning in the weather for it to get this cold. Monday I was wearing shorts! Now for the really bizarre thing...I also looked up the weather in Norman, Oklahoma(where I used to live) and it is 45 there! Wow it is actually colder here! Who would have thought that would ever happen!!!!

Poke the Pumpkin
I thought I would share some pics from pumpkin carving last night. I printed templates off of HGTV.com and thought that all I would need was the sheet of paper. WRONG! they wanted me to have transfer paper, and graphite, and a bunch of other crap I have never used to carve a pumpkin before. So my friend Theresa and I got creative. We used push pins to hold the design on the pumpkin and then we followed the pattern and poked holes with the push pins. Then we took the paper off and used the holes to cut the pumpkin!! It worked so well!!

Apartment Arrest
I am officially putting myself on house/apartment arrest. It was my husband's idea and he was joking about it...but I think I am going to take him up on it. Today is my 12th day of working straight( i worked through the weekend last weekend) and last night was the first night I didn't have something to do in a week. CRAZY!!! So I am going to not make any plans with anyone(which is hard for me because I love to be busy). And I am going to hang out at home and get some rest!!! How crazy has my life become that just vegging out sounds so fun to me??!!!
Anyways, my sweet honey bought me a pumpkin the other day when he was out....he knows how much carving pumpkins makes me happy. So I am going to hole myself in my house and carve!!! I found the cutest pumpkin decorating ideas on HGTV website...and I love it!! Since my husband doesn't really celebrate Halloween....we won't be having any spooky stuff but this is a fun way for me to still get my Halloween dose without getting into marital disputes over the holiday!!! Check them out!!
I thought the sequin pumpkin was an adorable idea....except I would probably do it with a little fake one that way I could reuse it next year. How cheerful!! And I love the idea of carving the initials......So adult for my adult life....and oh how I am into H's now that I am married!:)
Happy Friday Everyone!!!!

Creep
So I should officially have my head put onto a world's creepiest person ever poster. Seriously, need help and a healthy dose of reality. So I have an addiction to blogging and i tend to just stumble onto random stranger's blogs that I don't know....you know the old 'friend of a friend of a friend'? Well so anyways some of them I really enjoy reading and will become a consistent visitor of their blogs. Well anyways today I went onto "said stranger's" blog and saw that she had posted that she was engaged. Now let me tell you I get really excited for her. Not just the normal " Oh that's nice excitement". I am talking the " OMG....I am freaking out here and I will probably be your maid of honor" excitement that you get for a close friend. Except I don't know this girl. Not even a little bit. Wow that is not cool. I need help. And a life apparently.
Well gotta go. I think there are some open windows out in the neighborhood that need peeping into.
Sincerely,
Tom

No. Mr High Fructose Corn Syrup...you aren't my friend.
Has anyone seen the new commercials for the high fructose corn syrup lately? You know the guys is eating something really bad and the girl says something about it having high fructose corn syrup in it and not wanting to eat it. He then asks her why she thinks it is bad. She gives the dumbest blank stare. He then proceeds to try to convince her that it is not bad because it is made from corn, has the same ingredients as honey, and is fine in moderation. OH MY.....now I am no doctor or nutritionist, and no I cannot tell you what it is in high fructose corn syrup that makes it terrible for your body, and yes i do still eat it....BUT even little oh business major me is aware enough to realize it is not the greatest thing to put in your body.
So dear Mr. High Fructose Corn Syrup, the unsightly dimples on my rear have sold you out my friend. you aren't fooling anyone.

the smell of a good book....
One of my all-time top five favorite parts of being out of school is being able to read whatever I want when I want and not having to be forced to read something incredible boring and mind-numbing. So I have really been a reading machinge as of late. I just recently got done reading a book called "The Shape of Mercy". It is about this girl who takes on this project to transcribe a really old journal from the Salem Witch trials. Mercy, is a girl from this time period who is accused of being a witch and the journal is her account of that experience. Now if you are into history even slightly(and even if you aren't) you will love this book. This book tells two different stories in one book. You not only walk through the main character of the book but you also read through the journal of Mercy as she goes through the Salem witch trials. This author is so refreshing as she engages you in both stories. The best part of this book is that is tackles the concept of passing judgement without knowledge both in the 1600's and today. And you see that the effects while slightly different still have the same consequences. The author also weaves the powerful theme of love through this book and how its healing powers can overcome this judgement. This book is a must read. I read it in about two days and loved every second.
And now I am reading the book "The Shack". Now this book has been slightly controversial as of late and I decided to take a stab at it. I am in the middle so I can't really give my final opinion. but so far I am enjoying it. The main thing about this book is that you can't take it for fact. And I think that so many people believe that the author wrote it as an account of what it would be like for us to meet God/Jesus. And it is clearly not. But anyways check it out. Now I just need a REALLY rainy day so I can lay on the couch and read the rest of my book with the smell of wet grass coming in my screen door....HEAVEN.:)
Anyone got any good reads???

break out the tissues...
the other day Jonathan and I were cleaning our little apartment. and we stopped working and were being silly and Jonathan was chasing me around our house trying to do something to me that annoys me and I was screaming my head off. and then I had the moment. you married friends know what I am talking about...that moment when you strongly realize that you are married and that life will never get any better than this moment right here. it still surprises me because i get those moments fairly frequently still and one would think that 15 months of marriage would squash any of that newness. but it doesn't. and i love it. probably one of my favorite things about being married is that it constantly surprises me with those realizations of gratitude.
i love you babe. thanks for marrying me. :)

THE game
Well folks it is that time of the year again. You know what I am talking about.........THE RED RIVER SHOOTOUT!! oh the gloriousness that is OU playing Texas....and winning of course. The best part of this game is that it doesn't matter how good either team is or isn't...the game is always incredibly close and incredible to watch. Sadly, I usually go to the game but now that I live in Florida this game(including all other OU games) will have to be missed. SIGH. This game should be especially good with OU as #1 and texas as #5!!
Oh yeah and just a little fact that I found......the past 15 times that the two teams have gone into this game undefeated...OU has won 9 of those times. HECK YES!!!!! Take that horns.

I worked this past weekend both Saturday and Sunday. Up until today I have worked 11 full to very overtime days in a row without a day off and let's just say that I am EXHAUSTED!!! So my boss comes up to me yesterday and tells me that i should take Friday off and rest. (Not sure whether the bags under my eyes tipped him off or not..but hey at least he noticed!) so anyways....I get the entire Friday off and I don't even know what to do with myself but I am pretty excited!!! Hooray!!!

grocery store showdown
let me just start out by saying that I HATE grocery shopping....to me there is just nothing fun about going to try to buy food with half of America at the same time. Now it would probably be less crowded if i didn't go to Walmart...but two words: bargain hunter. So anyways I went to Walmart yesterday to go grocery shopping. now there are many dislikes for me about grocery shopping: making really big decisions about what to eat for the rest of the week(sidenote...i don't even know what I want to wear tomorrow and now i have to plan out the rest of my weekly food consumption.......not easy), carrying my groceries out to the car( again wouldn't be a problem if I would shop at an actual grocery store), taking them up a flight of stairs to the second floor apartment(sidenote....it never fails that it begins to monsoon as soon as I begin to carry the groceries up stairs), and the number one reason I hate the grocery store is having near cart collisions at the end of the aisle. It seems that I ALWAYS have a near collision. I mean they seriously need to put up reflective mirrors at the end of each aisle so i can avoid the awkward " You go ahead, no you go ahead" moment post near collision. So yesterday I was driving(can you call it driving?) the cart down the aisle and of course a lady that is coming across my aisle...I can't see. So we both have to abruptly stop. Now the lady stopped because her son saw me and told her to stop and I stopped because I saw the end of her cart looming around the corner. So anyways we do the whole awkward jig and i finally pull out in front and apologize. As I am walking right in front of her, this wonderful mother LOUDLY says to her son " Well it was HER fault" in probably the rudest voice ever. WOW..so I just keep walking and feel really awkward and embarassed. (sidenote: why is it that when somebody completely is rude to me, I am the one that is embarassed, when really the person acting like a four year old should be embarassed?) so yes Mrs. Stereotypical Grocery Store Shopper........you are the reason why i can not enjoy my grocery shopping experience.
I should have junk punched her and stole all of her groceries.

technology challenged
so my lovely cousin Heather took it upon herself to give my picture a HUGE facelift and I absolutely LOVE IT!!!! Thank you so much cuz!!! The only thing is whenever I uploaded it, it is off center and because technology and I are enemies for life I can't figure out how to make it not too big for the border...HELP...cousin Heather...anybody any suggestions...until then it will just have to be off center because it is entirely too cute to take off and my stupid OCD will just have to deal....hate when computers beat me...

Already??
October 2nd........WOW is all I have to say!!!I really can't believe that it is already October!! Anybody know what the heck happened to measley old August and September??
Normally October brings with it the crispness in the air that is glorious...however since I moved to Florida I no longer get to see the different seasons....we have only two seasons in the great state of sunshine....HOT and Less HOT. Bummer....now don't get me wrong I love it here but I am starting to wish it got a little bit colder sooner. Oh well... the price you pay to be able to lay out the day after Christmas!
Guess it is time to start putting out my fall decorations........makes it hard when it still feels like JULY!!!!
Happy Fall Everybody!

Baby Mama Drama
Viewer's Discretion: Material may not be appropriate for male species.
It was bound to happen eventually and I am actually surprised that it didn't happen earlier than now. I had my first pregnancy scare after 14 months of marriage. Just a couple of a posts ago, i talked about my husband thinking that I was pregnant and then the dream that I had. Well the very next week to top it off, my special little friend was FOUR DAYS late. Now you may be thinking four days is not that late, but keep in mind. This was four gutwrenching, terrifying days of me trying to figure out whether I really was pregnant. And a little bit too much background perhaps, but I am about as consistent as they come.Luckily today I went to the bathroom and let's just say I may never get that excited about going to the bathroom ever again. So anyways, it was weird and it did give me alot of time to think about what it would be like and to try to wrap my head around being a mother.
I do need to give MAJOR props to my husband. The entire time he was sooo encouraging and calm, while I am literally seconds away from my next meltdown. When I already had both of us jobless and living with the inlaws...he stayed calm. Incredible. No baby mama here!! And I must say I am slightly relieved. :)

Pray
Well let's just start off by saying that I am in a God-ordained Sunday school and He pretty much shows up every week and rocks some faces. so anyways we had this 24 hour prayer this weekend and how it works is you sign up for a certain 30 minute slot. And the way it works is you pray for 30 minutes off of a sheet that has everyone prayer requests from the class on the sheet. then once you are done, you call the next person on the list who has the slot behind you. Anyways IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! Jonathan and I prayed together and we just really enjoyed this 24 hour prayer sooo much!!! It was just incredible to be able to lift up people's hurts and problems up to the Lord and know that He is listening. I put some prayer requests on there and it really was such a blessing to know that for 24 hours people were lifting those requests to the Lord. Incredible. It was such an great reminder of how incredible prayer is. Sadly, I do need a reminder because unfortunately I forget. ALOT.
BOOMER SOONER
Ok so you know I had to do a post to give props to my lovely ALMA MATER(man that kinda makes me feel old...like that's what my mom would say..anyways) THEY ARE #1!!!!!!! I am so excited. Finally we are back where we belong!! And you know what it is even more exciting is that this year the National Championship is in Miami again!!! Which means....that it would be super easy for us to get to go!!! ahhhhhh....so exciting!!! So cross your fingers that OU will dominate this season and go to the National Championship!! Hooray!! How fun!!! BOOMER SOONER BOOMER SOONER BOOMER SOONER BOOMER SOONER BOOMER SOONER BOOMER SOONER BOOMER SOONER OKU I'M SOONER BORN AND SOONER BRED AND WHEN I DIE I'LL BE SOONER DEAD!!!!

After stalking other people's blogs I found the cutest website ever and was opened to a whole new world of blogging......they have soooo many CUUUUTE things you can add!! It is soo fun! I am having a blast spending WAY too many hours just looking for cute ideas. May become a problem though...moderation was never my thing..so if my blog ends up looking like somebody threw up blog ideas on it..don't say I didn't warn ya! :) HAPPY BLOGGING!!!!!

Daddy's Girl
Two posts in one day...WOW
Happy Birthday Daddy...okay well it wasn't today and in fact it was last Thursday and I meant to do a post dedicated to this special guy in my life......... so here are the top 10 things I love the most about my dad..........
1. He is without a doubt one of the most generous people I have ever known.....he love to give gifts and is just so giving...wish i could learn to be as giving as he is.
2. He loves to just hear my voice and he tells me this on a regular basis.
3. He has gotten sweeter to his entire family the older he has gotten.
4. He doesn't know just how funny/ personable he really is.
5. He has always listened to me. Even when I was little and made stupid arguments that did not make sense, he still listened before he argued back.
6. He give some seriously good hugs and kisses.
7. He would drop anything in this earth to come visit me even for an afternoon if given the chance...and believe me he has.
8. He treats my husband like a son..and calls just to talk....he doesn't like to talk on the phone either, so this is extra special.
9. He always spends WAY too much money on my mom at Christmas and she always gets mad but it is one of my favorite things in the world.
10. I am probably the only person who can make him tear up!!!
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH DADDY!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY... ONE WEEK LATE!!!
